Interview Techniques

Ideally used for Competency Based Interviews the following ‘STAR’ technique is the most effective way to answer questions posed to you:

Situation – briefly describe the background to the situation

Task – specifically describe your responsibility

Action – describe what you did

Result – describe the outcome of your actions
