Singapore, 27 August 2018 - C&W Singapore, the facilities and engineering arm of global commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Singapore Institution of Safety Officers (SISO).

With the agreement, both parties will jointly develop a workplace, health and safety competency roadmap for C&W Services’ Workplace Health and Safety Professionals.

On its part, C&W Services pledges its full commitment to support the training provided under SISO’s Career Progression Pathway.

Jun Sochi, Managing Director, C&W Services Singapore said “Our partnership with SISO aligns with our company’s top priority to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all our employees, our contractors and the wide range of facilities we manage on behalf of our clients across Singapore and in the region.  This has been the long-term vision of our dedicated health and safety team at the facilities and engineering arm of Cushman & Wakefield.  The MOU with SISO is a public commitment that we take workplace health and safety very seriously.  Also, this collaboration will help establish a clear career roadmap and progression for C&W Services’ safety professionals at all levels of our business.”

SISO’s Career Progression Pathway is a structured programme that aims to deepen the knowledge of health and safety issues amongst safety professionals and instill greater confidence to make decisions and influence the decision makers within their organisations.

Mr. Bernard Soh, President, SISO said “As the de facto organisation in Singapore representing Workplace, Health and Safety professionals, SISO took the lead to develop a Career Progression Pathway (CPP) from the SISO Professional Standard to provide both new and current workplace health and safety professionals with a plan to further enhance their competencies and capabilities and chart their careers. SISO is very pleased to be signing the MOU with C&W Services.  This MOU will allow C&W Services to provide an avenue for the deepskilling, upskilling, and broadskilling of their safety professionals.  We hope that signing this MOU will encourage more workplace health and safety professionals to embark on this journey.”

C&W Services is the first facilities management company to sign an MOU with the Singapore Institution of Safety Officers.
